Prototype and High Fidelity
The prototype for this Sprint focuses on only the red line features and is refined only enough to not pull the tester out of the experience.
Features such as placement, high details, assets and sizing are all made to be placeholders and aren’t the finished placement and look.
For example, many assets are used directly from the Petfinders.com website. This was done to save time while still having the right look for the website, in real production these assets would be developed by the company itself along with animations.
The goals for this prototype are to have a user interface with the pet matching feature of the site. Hopefully, I’ll learn whether a feature like this made the user feel more confident and that they’re better matched with an animal they’re selecting.
Interviewed user: Charlotte
This user enjoyed that the website wasn’t “flooded with ads and useless information”. She easily went through the quiz part and at the matches page enjoyed that the rows of dogs that matched her were clear. The bio page information made her smile, and she liked how the animal had a personalized biography about it.
MOVING FORWARD: This Design sprint proved positive results for the use of a quiz-based system within a website like CityPups.com. Moving forward with design this site would need to be refined and the other pages would need to be fleshed out. However, the tested portion is viable to be continued into production.
